A ‘hybrid’ by definition is the result of crossing two or more items, usually in an attempt to make a more superior item or one that fulfills a specific need. For example, hybrid seed was created in order to increase disease resistance and improve crop yield. Likewise, hybrid vehicles were created to address our alternative fuel dilemma. So what are hybrid tablets and what are they supposed to accomplish?
October 7-13 is Fire Prevention Week. There’s no better time to turn our attention to home fire safety. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), one home structure fire was reported every 85 seconds in 2010. In 2010, U.S. Fire Departments responded to 369,500 home structure fires. These fires caused 13,350 civilian injuries and 2,640 civilian deaths.

While sitting in my doctor’s office, I started thinking, “What if?” What if the doctor’s computer network were hacked tonight? An integral part of disaster preparedness is creating a kit which holds the basic supplies you will need in the event of a disaster.
