Central Insurance
When I first applied at Central, I had been looking for a stable job at a grounded and experienced company. While the job market can be somewhat unpredictable with positions available in so many different fields, I knew I didn’t just want to work anywhere; the company and values mattered to me.
When I arrived for my interview, I could not have been more impressed with the profound impact Central had on its employees and the community alike. I was pleasantly surprised by the significant role this company played in so many lives and the culture and values that were so important to everyone who worked here.
When I was offered a position in the Claims Department in the Central Regional Office, I really didn’t know what to expect from a completely unfamiliar industry. When I stumbled across Central, I had recently moved back to my hometown in Northwest Ohio after living in a larger city for a few years working in food service, customer service, retail, community services, sales, and banking. All of my previous jobs have created professional skills I now use every day.
As a staff claims adjuster, I get the privilege of helping people who are going through an unfortunate experience. I get to work one-on-one and display dedicated customer service to not only our customers but to independent agents and other insurance business partners as well. It’s an awesome feeling to know that you are responsible for taking care of people when they need it the most.
I had never imagined that all the steps in my career path would lead me to the world of insurance. When I tell people what industry I work in, they expect me to be selling insurance or working with numbers. While these roles are vital to the insurance industry, there are so many different opportunities available that help creates a space for almost anyone to call the insurance industry their home. Insurance can offer you endless avenues for personal growth and continued education while providing a stable career. After all, insurance is something everyone needs.
While you may not have envisioned a career in the insurance industry, I can confidently say that it is a rewarding and opportunistic avenue to consider. I encourage you to explore the many opportunities and relationships that insurance has to offer.
