Shortly after finishing my undergraduate studies, my husband and I moved back to my hometown where I was working as a server at a local restaurant. Though I had just started graduate school, I was beyond ready to put my apron down and look for a steady, full-time job. When I saw a customer services position open at Central, it was a no-brainer; I had to apply! Long story short, I got the job and began my career in the insurance industry and what a joy it’s been!
I love working as a customer service correspondent. I get to work with an amazing group of people who help and encourage me every single day. My department is fairly small, so we are a close group that is always having fun together.
Almost 90% of my day is spent on the phone assisting our customers and agents. In our field, the customer is always the number one priority. I do everything I possibly can to help them whether it be explaining their bill, processing a payment, or filing a claim. I get to live out Central’s mission of fulfilling the promise to provide security, protection, and peace of mind to our customers every day and it’s so rewarding.
I also participate in other organizations within Central doing tasks such as gathering ideas for social media and writing blogs. I enjoy being a part of these groups because it allows me to interact with people outside of my department, while also allowing those people to get to know me on a personal level.
It is hard to believe that a year ago I lived in a different town, working crazy hours as a server, and now I have this amazing job working for an incredible company in my hometown. I am looking forward to seeing where my career in the insurance industry might take me.
