My Career in Insurance – What a Pleasure It’s Been!

I have had the pleasure of working in the insurance industry for the past nine years. Central Mutual Insurance Companies is the first and only company for whom I have worked throughout my career. When I first started my insurance career, I honestly had no clue what this line of work was all about or what I would learn. Being involved in the insurance field has definitely helped to debunk the myth that insurance companies are not there to help others.

At Central, we handle all types of property and casualty claims for both personal and commercial lines. What I truly enjoy about this line of work is our ability to help people recover from really bad situations. Whether it is a total loss house fire or serious injury claim, in the end, our duty is to fairly settle our claims and help those who have been affected move on with their lives. While this does not always prove to be easy, in the end it’s what makes my career so worthwhile. Before entering this industry, I never knew the impact insurance can have on someone’s life. It’s so gratifying to be on the front lines when something goes terribly wrong and to assure those who have suffered that we will work through it, together.

In the past nine years, I have obtained a wealth of knowledge that I will be able to use for the rest of my life, both professionally and personally. I think it’s safe to say that when it comes to my career, I share the same amount of enthusiasm as my Boston Terrier, Winston!

This industry is full of changes and always keeps me on my toes. I’ve developed great relationships not only with my Central colleagues, but with countless insurance professionals throughout the country. It has been a pleasure to build a career at Central and I will continue to encourage others to seek out professions in the insurance industry.
